About BEAM
BEAM is a student volunteer group that works with students in grades K-5 at William D’Abate Elementary School in Olneyville (a neighborhood of Providence). Through a partnership with One Neighborhood Builders, the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University, and the William D'Abate Elementary School we provide enrichment while building lasting relationships with our students.

Issue Area: K-12 Education

Description of Responsibilities
Volunteers will facilitate out-of-school time engagement with students. Volunteers will be responsible for creating enrichment curriculum for k-12 students and engage virtually/remote.

Description of Trainings, Supervision and Support
No prior teaching experience is necessary. Student leaders at BEAM provide regular support and thorough training for all members of BEAM.

Expected Hours Per Week: 
At minimum, volunteers are expected to commit to four hours/week for lesson planning and community engagement.
