Organizational Information: Beat the Streets Providence is a local non-profit committed to inspiring K-12 urban youth for success in school and life through the vehicle of co-educational wrestling. We use our program as a hook to draw at-risk students into a positive after-school environment where they receive mandatory academic support, connect to strong mentors, engage in healthy physical activity, learn about nutrition and general health, and incentives to attend and succeed in school.

Position/Project Overview: The Capacity Building Specialist position is a key support unit to the management team of Beat the Streets Providence. New team member(s) are expected to collaborate actively within the BTSPVD organization and involve themselves in developing/sustaining exceptional afterschool programming to local youth. It will very much be an immersive experience, in that new members will participate in a range of functions from data collection (attendance) to grant writing.

Position/Project Objectives & Expected Outcomes (Please include any duties or responsibilities that the student would be expected to fulfill) : Position responsibilities based on individual preference, comfort levels, and willingness to try new things could include any combination of the following.
-Exhibit a motivating degree of enthusiasm -Maintain a sense of kindness and inclusivity throughout your stay-Understanding of sports-based youth development principles -Comprehension of general nonprofit parameters -Learning and utilizing organizational data repositories -Data Collection/Entry-Data Interpretation -Meet with collaborate with Executive Director and team regularly -Canva comprehension and infographic generation -Utilize multiple virtual platforms, navigate new interfaces and resources -Professional Correspondence with partners - Outreach to new partnerships- Build Youth activities- Participate in Virtual workouts -Website Development-Community/ Family involvement plan-Youtube Channel-Building Systems 2020-2021 Programming -Grant proposal understanding -Grant selection and narrative generation -Grant production and submission-Picking up and being flexible to assist and give support to any situation or work that might arise-Reporting directly to Program Director

Qualifications (required and preferred): 4-year degree seeking student. Preferred but not limited to students  pursuing relevant studies in sports-based youth development, nutrition, and health. Relevant experience preferred.
