About

In anticipation of funding, Inspiring Minds is posting our volunteer opportunities to work directly with students in the summer of 2023.  We plan to support 96 students and their families in their transition to Kindergarten, in-person, at FOUR classrooms this summer.

Our six-week, full-day summer learning program builds social-emotional and academic skills while focusing on learning school and classroom routines. Our program is open to rising kindergartners at the focus schools and is taught by their teachers, to ease the transition to K. Volunteer shifts are 8:15-11:45 and 11:15-2:45. You can sign up for one or more shifts. Morning shifts are in the classroom. Afternoon shifts are working with community partners and visiting local resources, such as parks, local libraries, and more.

We're also recruiting 4 communications volunteers (one at each site) that are responsible for preparing newsletters and sign/in sign out and helping to manage the paperwork and prep for our teachers.

Register for the event if you're interested in working with us this summer. We'll reach out to you with more information.

Volunteers must be 15+. The commitment is at least one shift per week for six weeks, July 5-August 15, 2023

Volunteers under the age of 18 must fill out this reference form in place of their BCI along with 2 additional references on their membership application: https://inspiringminds.givepulse.com/document/download?key=fbb309e8a03e357cad9b6d77cc44dc7a&t=1621352385
